Alpha Chapter

Buffalo, NY Citywide Chapter

The Alpha Chapter was founded at the University at Buffalo in October of 1994 by founding mothers Katsuko Arima, Rebecca Cassar, Jill Mauragis and Jennifer Muller. With the help of founding line Stephanie Magner and Cara Scott, as well as SISter Darcey Kemp, SIS has left its mark in Buffalo as one of the most dedicated multicultural sororities on campus. The Alpha Chapter has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to the organization's purposes and goals by playing an active role in the Bufflo community. Through its innovative programming and creation of "Did You Know?" flyers, the Alpha Chapter has served to educate its campus and surrounding communities about issues such as racism, rape, sexism and diversity. Community involvement in events such as the Linda Yalem Run and years of volunteer work with Cornerstone Manor have allowed the Alpha Chapter to serve as a role model for all other chapters in our organization.
